Gals, if you haven't travelled SOLO yet, you should!

I write this post as I am a frequent SOLO traveller and would like to encourage you gals and ladies to travel SOLO at least once in your lifetime. Please do read this article in ENTIRETY.

Y.O.L.O - you only live once. This is one of the main reasons why I decided to travel SOLO when I was 15 years old.

I still remember vividly it was after I gotten my O Levels results and just before my polytechnic school life starts. I bought a 5D4N Free And Easy package that consists of only air tickets and accommodation to Bangkok. I went to many places such as Grand Palace, Floating Market, MBK, and many more during my trip.

It is a total different experience when you travel solo. You get to plan where you wanna go, you set your own pace... I don't like to go with group tours (especially with travel agencies), because their pace is usually fast and although you get to go many places, but these places are usually too "touristy" and you never really get to savour the moment.

Yes, you saw it right. Savour the moment! This is one of the main reasons why I fall in love with SOLO travel. Savouring the moment is important in travelling because this is the main ingredient that gives you different sensations for each trip. Every trip's moments are different.

Some of you may think "it is not safe to travel alone". Yes, I do agree with it, but there are some countries that are solo travel-safe. And yes, you still need to be careful when you travel SOLO.

Some countries that I do recommend for solo travelling:
  • Japan
  • South Korea
  • Taiwan
  • Hong Kong
  • Bangkok (Within City Area)
  • Australia
  • Singapore
Some countries that I STRONGLY ADVISE not to go for solo travelling:
  • India
  • China
  • Europe

I love to travel. How about you?

In a fast paced, rigid and comfortable society like Singapore, travelling has become a part of me to explore the unknown and experience cultures in the world.

Of course it is also an escapade from stress from work and life in Singapore too. :)

I plan most of my travelling in advance (of course since I'm a freelance travel planner as well) getting cheap air tickets and accommodations. And plan my itineraries in details when I travel to countries with sophisticated rail systems (such as Japan and Taiwan).

I hate travelling with group tours simply because it is way too expensive and often the itineraries are so jammed pack that one can hardly immerse and enjoy the atmosphere. And group tours may not be really suitable for those with elderly or kids.

Now how about you? If you too like me loves to travel free and easy but always got stuck in the itinerary, I can help you:)
